Family letter

Dear future host family,
Thank you for choosing me as a possible au pair for your family.
I would like to use this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Adrianna Manias but everybody says just Ada to me. I am 19 years old and I live in one of the biggest city in Poland Łódź (in English mean Boat). I live there with my mother younger brother and my grandmother. My mother name is Marlena and she is 40 years old. My younger brother is name Adam he is 7 years old. My grandmother name is Irena and she is 68 years old.
This year I will graduate a high school. My school profile is
mathematics physics and
informatics.

I would describe myself as reliable, caring, friendly, helpful and tolerant. I try to make the best of every situation. My friends are very important to me. I try to help them if they have problems and I´m always there for them.
In my spare time I like hanging out with my friends, reading books and taking photos. I also love traveling. I have been to Spain, Greece on Rhodos, Germany, Switzerland, France, Monaco, Venice. I love spending time in an active way. I used to be a basketball player for 7 years now with my old team we are practicing at school and we are playing in a school competitions. I like playing beach volleyball, riding a horse, jogging, riding a bike. I also like table tennis, tennis, swimming.

In the following I will describe you my childcare-experience.
Since my brother was born I have spent time with him.
Here are a few things I have made with him. When he was younger I bottle-fed him. I took a walk with him with buggy. Now I play with him a lot. Adam loves all kinds of puzzles and tasks so we play board games a lot. Together we wrote a fairytale. We also dance and sing together. I love to read him to sleep. I also take care of my cousin Julka. She is 12 years old and I have know her for so many years. I help her with her homework. Together we go to the cinema, play basketball, go horse riding.
I also take care of six-year old Franek. I usually take care of him once a week in the afternoon until his sister or father come home.  He loves spider man so we play together. I am a lady in distress and he is my hero. But I also help him learn the letters. And I read him fairytales.
That is just a small summary of my experience I have made with all them.

Now I will describe you why I want to be an au pair in the United States.
I want to be an au pair because I can deal with kids and I like it a lot. And of course, the kids like me, too! I love to spend time with kids and make them happy and every smile of a child makes me happy. I think these are good conditions for being an au pair. I wouldn't have a problem to leave my family for a year because in my opinion I am a flexible person. And I become more independent, self-confident and open-minded by spending an exciting year abroad. It has been one of my biggest dream since I was a little girl spending time in a typical american family. Furthermore this year could be a great opportunity for me because besides taking care of children I could improve my english-skills, meeting new friends and seeing other culture than the European. I am think this year could be the best year of my life and it will be very important to me.

I can add that I am a driver since 2013. I ride every day because I have my own car and I didn't have a car accident. I drove in different weather conditions like snow, rain and sunny weather .

I hope this letter is giving you an interesting insight into my life and I am looking forward to my year with you in the United States!

Many greetings from Poland,
Ada.

  2. trzeci akapit "I usually take care of him once time a week " powinno być bez "time"
dalej - so we play together
    But I also help...

Moim zdaniem fajnie byłoby połączyć trochę tych zdań ze sobą, ponieważ są bardzo krótkie - lepiej wyglądałoby mniej, ale bardziej rozbudowanych.
Zamiast zwrotów "I will tell you...", "I will describe" po prostu zaczęłabym pisać o tym lub dała nagłówki np "childcare experience" i tu opis.

Tak rzuciło mi się to po przeczytaniu, choć to opinie subiektywne :)
    Przepraszam, jeśli zbyt ingerujące ^^

  5. Jest ok, ale brakuje sporo przecinków. I jeden, wielki błąd, który rzucił mi się w oczy: nie jesteś kierowcą from, tylko since!
